CALL FOR PAPERS

After a five-year pause on our in-person conferences, AAFT is looking toward a future of greater connectivity, growth, and healing. We are also celebrating the resilience of our profession and rediscovering our collective strengths in Systemic / Family Therapy.
Rather than pre-empt what we should be talking to each other about at this conference, we would like our community to help define the sub-themes.

How? Tell us what you’ve been thinking about during the hiatus, by submitting an abstract about priority projects in your work in recent years. This may be clinical, research, training, teaching, community, advocacy, or other related work. A dedicated committee of experienced professionals will thoroughly review all submissions.

Key Dates:

  • Abstract submissions open: 11 November 2024
  • Abstract submissions close: 31 January 2025
  • Notification of abstract acceptance: 21 February 2025
  • Early Bird registrations open: 19 December 2024
  • Early Bird registrations close: 31 March 2025

Submission process
Please submit your abstracts via the button below. The abstract should be no more than 200 words and must include proposed topic title, presenters, non-presenting co-authors and significance statement.

If your abstract is accepted, you will be required to submit your full paper by 14th April 2025.

WHAT IS AN ABSTRACT?

What is an Abstract?
An abstract is a concise summary of a proposed presentation, research, or study that conveys the essential information and key points of the topic. Abstracts highlight the relevance, scope, and expected outcomes, providing reviewers with a snapshot of what to expect.

Why Submit?

  • Drive Knowledge and Innovation: Share insights that can influence industry advancements and spark new ideas.
  • Gain Visibility and Recognition: Showcase your expertise in front of an engaged, professional audience.
  • Enhance Professional Development: Receive feedback, network, and connect with other industry leaders.

Abstract Submission Guidelines
The abstract submission process is your opportunity to shape the conference program and share your expertise with peers.

Given our priority of gathering in-person, no remote papers will be accepted.

To participate, we invite you to submit:

  • Title of Presentation
  • Theme: Indicate how your presentation aligns with the conference themes.
  • Abstract: A 200-word summary of your proposed presentation.
  • Personal Information: including your LinkedIn profile and bio.

Your abstract should highlight the key points of your topic, including its relevance, scope, and anticipated outcomes.

This summary allows the conference committee to review submissions for quality and alignment with the program’s goals.
